Remember the dress I previously blogged about...? Well... I got it! =D
I decided something so pretty is definitely a waste to pass up. Plus thankfully I managed to get the last piece in my size! Woot!

So anyways I decided to do some of my own research into the brand and was pleasantly or unpleasantly surprised to find that Mother Maria had so much more to offer. I say unpleasantly because I am now unhealthily obesessed with Katie Gannon's designs. They are so whimsical, to which I would definitely wear everything in her collection!

Pretty Moss

Moss Terrariums seem to be the latest thing. It, I think, is about growing moss or other small little plants in a jar, only watering them every 2-3 weeks and just letting them grow on their own. They look pretty in this photo, then again, the only impression I have of moss is that eeky/yet surprisingly fluffy thing that grows on the insides of my neighbor's coil fish pond. Oh well, I doubt I'd be trying to make one myself... Don't have a green thumb.

A Sunny Saturday

It was about time I visited Casual Poet and who better to go with than Melly! Going out with the woman is always fun and interesting. Also it's nice to know she genuinely finds my "jokes" funny... Or at least I think so. haha... So anyways everyone should take some time to drop by Casual Poet for a light lunch/tea and maybe even some shopping. Their food is an absolute delight and their range of products too lovely, I want them all!! The girl working there that day was attentive and very friendly, making the overall visit uber enjoyable.

Jobless Annonymous No More

I'm finally working! Like a proper graphic design job at a design firm! After one day, I really do like it. How many people can actually say that they like their jobs? So this has left me only my weekends to squander time away... Mahjong with Aisyah, Charlotte and my dear Sonia who has returned for a visit from London, Going Ikea, partying with the girls, having a sleepover at the boyfriend's, visit to Kinokuniya downtown. Time seems to past so fast when you're having a damn good time. Finally, that hole in my life has been covered up with much joy. I'm on top of the world! =D

So as expected, I will be ignoring my blog for a little while till everything in my life starts to get a little less hectic. I told you something good will be up soon right? =D So the holidays are approaching, hope everyone has good fun now yer hear?! =)

3 girls, 2 Buffets and a really big Party!

Zouk Out was pretty fun. Some people might say spectacular, but I'm just going to say fun, cause at the end of the day, it's just the company that makes your day. The music was pretty good, the alcohol sucked but the friends made it gurreeatt. For all you non-Singaporeans out there... Zouk Out is an annual beach party hosted by Zouk Club and is attended by over 25,000 people. Honestly, I had a feeling there might have been as many foreigners as there were locals.

Anyways, Ezra and I had planned a stay at the Rasa Sentosa Shangri'La for Sunday. Well, it was more my idea since we always wanted to like have a mini getaway. The poor boy was exhausted after working for nearly 24 hours straight. However, we were rewarded with a comfy bed, 2 buffets and a whole lot of sleep. =D

p.s Rasa Sentosa's standard has really dropped. Sadly, it's pretty disappointing in terms of food and facilities. They should really do some major upgrading!

So I'm going to be really busy this weekend. Charlotte and I are going for Zouk Out and won't you believe it's our first time in 22 years. Kinda odd when we used to go clubbing thhhhaaaaaattt much. We're probably staying the whole night, only because transportation is going to be a killa biatch for us. Anyways Sunday late morning, will finally get to be Ezra and we have something special planned... =D I'm uber excited!

Who doesn't love shoe sales! I'm selling off my shoes which most women would consider a stab in the heart cause really, which lady wants to part with her shoes. However, thankfully for me and maybe quite shockingly, I am not a shoe person. If I could do a Nicole Richie and walk barefooted everywhere, I would! Anyways, presenting my shoes!

My mum's brown vintage oxfords size 36.5 - 37. Very gorgeous leather and in 9.5/10 condition. You'd think I'd keep this pair but, I'm happy with the black ones from KG. =D Price is 30USD.

Brand new patchwork oxford heels sized 37. Bought them cause I thought they were unique, but that was it. LOL. Must stooopp... must... ssttttoooo...ppp... =D Brown area is suede. Price is 16USD (reserved)

The cutout heels that everyone lusted for. It's a size best 36.5-37.What's unique about this pair is that its vintage/contemporary style. I've only worn it once, so it's in good condition. Heel is 2.5" high. Priced at 13USD. (reserved)

Very adorable cream fringed suede heels worn only once, so very good condition. Fits size 37, heel height is almost 3". Price is 13USD.

Last but not least, my Doc Martins which have only been worn once. They are like in 98% good condition, well actually like brand new. Unfortunately, I don't get a chance to wear these babies in Singapore cause of the weather, plus I'm too effing lazy. Looking for a new owner who will love these pair! They are size 37. Actually, that's not true. I've been to New York, twice. Just got this tee because it took the mick out of people who wear the I heart NY tee, but haven't been there yet. I do like New York but at the same time, the last two times I went there, I felt very exhausted at the end of each day just doing nothing. The hustle and bustle of the city is maybe not very much for me... =(

Anyways, I'll be blogging less for the next few weeks. I'll be busy prepping for my new room, new website and new blog. Expect new fun stuff when everything is done. Hopefully. =)

I do apologize for the lack of fashion entries and or including more on the stuff I make! As most of you would know by now, my room is under major renovations and most of my goodies are still in boxes. In fear of my mother's wrath when it comes to small messes, I'm gonna leave them alooonnnee.... Anyways due to lack of integrity on the contractor's part, renovation has been extended for another 2-4 weeks. Sighs. I'm not even sure if everything's going to be unpacked by New Year's, though only by the Chinese New Year I'll be able to give everyone a video tour of my room which I am so excited about, especially my customized wardrobe that's white on the outside and red on the inside, and my one of my favourite ceiling lamps i chose which has wooden aeroplanes hanging around it (fitted in the bathroom so that I can look at it and smile while in the shower. hehe. My dad asked me if I missed being a child for which I replied, I still am).

So here's another random entry about things I'm looking at now:

So the boyfriend and I made our way to the swimming pool today. I with much excitement, he with much trepidation. I am now announcing to the world that... Ezra cannot swim, not only that, but he sinks like a rock. I put the S in swimming and he puts the S in sinking. Maybe it has something to do with the fact he has very very very little fats in his body and the only part that floats is his head cause its totally full of air. haha... I know I'm going to get it later when he reads this. However, today I'm proud to announce that he has learnt to float and swim! Okay, it's not like he's an Olympic swimmer, but I suppose seeing the little kids next to us kicking like their lives depended on it, motivated Ezra to do the same. It was really cute seeing him swim from afar. hehe. And I do have every right to tease him since I can swim well (diver's licence and all), so don't say I'm mean cause you haven't heard him tease me about not sharing food. (inside joke which I will NEVER share) Hmph.

All in all, a beautiful day!

A Message of Love

I'm the sort of person who's easily affected by people around me. When I see you cry, I'd probably cry with you not knowing what's even going on. When you're happy, I will laugh the loudest when you say the craziest things. And lately, a few of the people I love are having problems which I wish I could help solve, but I can only assure them that everything will be alright.

Although people would think I know nothing about life, I at least know that everyone needs to be happy and deserves to be happy. I won't tell you, you only need yourself to be happy, but to look for things that make you happy and don't look back. Note, that I'm talking about things that you think make you happy but actually do. And if you're not sure what makes you happy anymore, look to the people who love you because they sincerely want to make you happy.

OOo... I said happy 7 times.
So here's somethings that made me happy. And that's 8!

1. Look at pastel colours. They calm your mind.

2. Don't give love up. Because it always has your back.

3. Don't forget those who care and forget those who don't.

I wanna thank those people out there who held my hand when I was down and know that I'm always here to hold yours too!

X'mas definitely came early this year! My present from Ezra which I'm over the moon & maybe even Mars about. Shopbop is having a crazy wonderful sale that should not be missed, especially when you live in the States, considering you have free ground shipping. I am so very jealous. So anways this Elizabeth&James shrug/cardigan/or whatever you call it was priced at US$418 and the price went down to US$125... I immediately started having fits and called Ezra straight away to tell him of my find. I was so happy when he said he was going to get it for me!

And lucky lucky me, I got the last one in CEMENT GREY colour! Can't wait for it to arrive. Look how pretty the collar trimmings are, just like birds' feathers. Sweet...

So today I woke up early to head to the Fresh Market to get ingredients for pasta that I was helping Ezra make for a party he attended this evening. Although, I feel so out of place there, considering my age and what I wore ( tee & vintage dress, belt), I love going to the market. It's so much better than the super market in terms of the price, freshness and people. Most of the regular stores that my mum and I visit know me quite well, which makes me feel really welcomed especially when they make conversation.

Anyways here's what I was wearing when I went to meet Jasmine & Charlotte after.

Nothing fancy. Embracing the slightly cooler weather, I busted out my mum's vintage jacket. Can I just say... let's bring back ballet flats... it's so sad so few people wear them anymore... Anyways, this is the bag I had sewn, with tassel trimmings and silver studs. The studding was such a pain in the ass cause everything had to be straight rows and as you can see, one has unfortunately dropped off. Fortunately for extras lying around my room. =)

I'm sorry I've been singing that song the whole day. Today I sent all my work to the designer in China so I can put the sleepless nights of candy/layout filled nightmares behind me... and focus on breathing. I can't wait to laze in bed reading Eleven Minutes and doing a bit of Sudoku. As I feel guilty for blogging so little... I'm doing a double post, one on fashion and one on my current obsession of home decor. Enjoy!

While most Singaporean women prefer STYLE magazine, I'm an avid fan of L'Officiel. The only issue I have with the magazine is it's many pages filled with luxury watches. I like luxury watches, but I don't understand what the intrigue behind it. My parents are willing to spend thousands of dollars on a watch and although yes, they are gorgeous... it still just baffles me! Anyways... here's an photo spread from their latest issue which I love love love.

PINK is the IT colour for spring! As wearing a pink dress is kind of an overkill for me, accenting any black and white outfit with fuschia will be my thing next year! =D

And I'm probably one of the last people to know about her, but mydailystyle is totally hawt! The way she dresses so inspirational! And she's pregnant...(like zomg, can you even tell) How does she do it?!

It's so hard to find a nice yet practical yet not too grungy backpack nowadays.Back in the hay day, I used to be absolutely obsessed with finding the nicest backpack in Secondary School... Anyone remember Mambo bags that were everywhere? Why the sudden obsession again? Because Charlotte and I are going back into the business of Rollerblading and carrying any of my current bags is going to make me look abit too out of place at the beach. Plus, call me fussy but I don't want sand in my Louis Vuitton. And so the "hunt" continues...

Raining Boom Booms!

Actually, I take that back, please vamoose moose! I was having supper with the girls this evening and suddenly, the wind picked up and in a second, it was heavy downpour with winds howling, thus everyone and everything got wet. I was already feeling very much less than glamorous, but at least we did have a good laugh.

Renovation stuff has been killing me because contractors are such sneaky icky people to work with and my aunt's catalogue job has been less than fun of late cause it was way more work than I expected. Plus, she carried the deadline forward. I am so screwed! But whatever hardworking molecules in my brain and body must prevail! YARGHS!

Yup, another one of my creations... I'm having so much fun cutting acrylic. It was suppose to be a necklace but I forgot to cut a whole at the top. Silly Silly Me!!

Anyways, random shoeage. Why are pretty things so expensive?! Waiting for X'mas sale which shouldn't be too long coming... Anyone else in Singapore going to buy stuff from ASOS, please holah. I need these pair of shoes which I have nicknamed BOomBooMs!

Big Bad Belt

Bad me! It's been awhile since I got my bow belt from Front Row which is probably about a month ago when I met Melly & Larissa, yet I haven't taken the time to blog about it. It's by Fly Now which I have never heart of but it's soo pretty and I have the other two ladies agreeing with me. At first when I saw it, I thought it was a clutch (which would have be perfect too... this is cause it was lined with a zipper), but was equally happy to know it was a belt! =) Now the difficult part is finding more stuff to pair it up with!

Room to Be

This is another entry about my room and interior decorating stuff. Warning: Don't carry on if you don't like looking at pictures of very pretty rooms/stuff. I'm sorry, I can't help myself. I'm so obsessed now, but then again who wouldn't when you have absolute creative freedom (which probably would also be my absolute weakness). I'll try to make this as least painful and most interesting as I can.... here goess.....

Here's my bathroom so far, as you can see I've used the small blue and white tiles. Kinda looks like a swimming pool right now don't yer think?

Here's the room itself, which now has the loft securely in place... without the stairs.....yet...

Work is going slower than expected. We've come to think that since the contractor thought my parents would be away for some time, they could slack off abit. Well too bad suckas, cause my mum's back and she will show you no mercy!!

I used to paint my walls so many different colours! Once I painted them half yellow and half green to represent a field of sunflowers. Sounds like a nice idea? No one else liked it =( But now I know, always keep your walls white. Unless you're the sort who loves to change wall colours ever so often and that's not me!

Accent the white with overload of prints and bold colours on furniture!

Love the curtain right next to the bed to shade from the sun, though I don't think I need it.

I think this is closest to my personal taste. Prints and colours everywhere! Actually in my world, everything is everywhere... ha!

I'm going to get loads of shelves from Ikea, 1 work table and one computer table... wait I definitely need more than that... hmmm...

I love how everything is organized. I got glass jars too to put in buttons, trimms and whatnot...

Customize your clipboards with decorative paper and put them all over your wall. Cause I'm gonna!

I love chalk, but it's so messy, so I was thinking of using corkboard material instead. Hope that's possible! hehe.

Mirrors on the stairs seem really sweet, but I think it'd freak me out alot in the evenings. Eek.

I want to get these curtains made. Aren't they pretty?!

So that's it for now. I can't wait till the construction is all done, then I can focus on the important things! Oh and by the way, I'm feeling much better now. Yesterday I had to go back into the hospital because I ended up with a worse infection and was put on a drip but today I'm fine and dandy... except... I'm trippin'. FOR REAL! Like... I feel like I'm floating and everything's kinda moving just a bit...Ezra and my Mum say it's cause I've got too much medication in my body right now. hehehe. But anyways, I still have to get alot of rest, so later everyone! xoxo

I had only half a day to do some well deserved shopping in Guangzhou, however after spending almost 3 hours in traffic and 15 minutes getting lost, I had 45 minutes to get something. Somethings I did get! 4 pairs or shoes, two of them boots in brown and black. This is one pair that I gotten! Isn't it sweet?! It's like a mix between vintage and new style. And I just got my Topshop zipper leggings back from my mum, considering I've lost most of mine. Meh. This is definitely going to be my new casual day staples for a long time to come! =)

Hi everyone! It's 10.07pm and I'm still in the office. I've spent the last day looking at trays and trays of candy, taking photos of them and getting to taste so many samples to the point I have an ulcer in my mouth. Unfortunately, I don't have a choice when the other boss shoves pieces of candy in my hands but then again WHY AM I COMPLAINING?!

I haven't had a proper lunch or dinner for the past 2 days. Just bits of candy, buns and a tiny bowl of porridge this morning. My stomach is so confused right now... cause it's not hungry but however it knows it hasn't had anything substantial. Maybe the overdose of sugar has done it good!

I think I'm gonna hate candy after this... YEAH RIGHT!!!

Here's a little project I did for the fun of it, with Ezra of course. =) We ate one piece of each of the assortment of Khong Guan biscuits in tin within like 20 minutes which probably wasn't such a good idea. Don't try this at home even if you're really hungry. This spread is just a conversation between me and him, and what we think of the goodies. I wish you could read the text cause it's pretty weird and funny. Obviously, I'm the sane one and he's the nutjob! (that's why I love you so much! ha!) Click on the pictures to read!

Anyways, I'll be flying to Guangzhou this Tuesday. It was a last minute decision as my aunt had called upon a favour from me to help her design her candy company's catalogue. I'll probably be trapped in the office 3 days straight, so I'm not sure if I'll have time to update this blog till Sunday. Unfortunately, I don't think I'm going to have the time or courage to do a little shopping. (China can be very dodgy for just one girl) Fortunately, I get to wear the warmer clothing in my closet. Inspiration Room

I've been really busy with the renovation for my room. Who knew it required so much attention! I know that most people would be more than excited to select tiles, wallpaper, lights etc. for their new room, but it's really not when it's scorching like 38 degrees C outside and go from store to store looking for the right toilet bowl for you. Yesh, I said toilet bowl. Did you know that every toilet seat is different and the only way to find out is obviously to sit on it? So in a store right behind a bus-stop, I took a seat on the toilet bowl while alighting passengers gave the stare. Well, that surely made for embarrassing moment 490823409 in my life!

Toilet accessories are so expensive and selecting the right shape, size and quality. There's made in China, Switzerland, Germany, Italy... Honestly, I just think they're all made in China and that's that. All in all, It was so exhausting! Hopefully, everything will turn out just like this...

The colour theme and concept is the same. Can't wait to see the outcome!

Childish Disposition

So today I was obliged to stay at home and withstand the drilling noise the whole day. This is cause since it is MY ROOM that is under renovation, I can't just let my parents stay at home and suffer for me. Since they weren't exactly in a great mood, considering my dad had just returned from France this morning and my mum, well in general isn't very happy with me, I got severe tongue lashing throughout the earlier half of the day for no apparent reason. Thus, I retreated to the comforts of my room and continued with my work. Boo... there went my initial plan to head over to Aisyah's to get some serious work done.

Does anyone else feel kinda freaked out by photos like these? I mean look at these girls, they're like 20 year old models in a 6-9 year old's body. Sure they're cute, but they look kinda like mini-Stepford wives and that is not a good thing! But besides that, I love the backdrop and props! I would surely love to live in a house like that.

Anyways, I'm looking for a new necklace! Preferably just a pendant on a long chain. Nothing too fancy, not too bulky but not too small either. Ezra wanted to get the Pumpkin necklace from Disney Couture, but we're not sure how big the pendant is and there's no way of checking. Plus, the orange one is sold out. (The title of today's entry made me laugh hysterically and even when I think about it I still giggle a little. YOU SOUND EXACTLY LIKE ME, Melly! =P *hugs*)

Today while men were moving furniture out of my room, I headed over to Ezra's place thinking I would be able to get some work done. Nope, fell dead asleep! I'm still sleepy though. Looks like the previous day of moving stuff drained the life out of me. The only reason I feel so is cause I have no stamina and am totally lazy. This, I will definitely admit to. =P

The highlight of the day was our monthly "indulgent dinner".

The location: Sun With Moon Japanese Restaurant, Wheelock Place.
Target audience: yuppie guppies, couples and families
(with kids that aren't kids anymore, in other words, No babies or kids clanging on the table)
Price Range: Dinner for 2pax around 30-50sgd each.
Ambience: Mature, almost romantic dining setting
Perks: You don't have to order alot to feel full. Portions are just nice. Service is excellent!
DePerks: Sashimi is fresh as heaven, but expensive as hell. Toro is 45.90SGD for just 3 pieces. Ouch.

This Weekend

Thanks Jasmine for the photos! Here are the Zouk boys. The hottie with the mask and shield staff is my boyfriend. hehe. Don't they look so damn fab! I sewed those grass skirts. At first we thought we wanted to use rafia string but then they would end up looking like hula dancers! So Ezra and I bought green fabric instead, sewed in the elastic and shredded the skirts. Look at 'em sexy legs! His mask was made from a sushi roller thingy with an elastic band attached to it so he could slip it on comfortably. The shield is really cute cause he's got feathers for hair and I used red plastic stones for the eyes! Talk about dramatic!

Yesterday I met up with the lovely Melly and Larissa. Seriously they are as fun and sweet as their personas on their blogs! We share so many similar traits and opinions, it was one of the most enjoyable outings I ever had. The gossip was very entertaining.... *coughs* hahaha..

Anyways, we headed to the Bianca's preview of their new season of shoes @Haji Lane. Their collection was very nice but the quality quite disappointing to be honest. Their previous seasons were much better in terms of workmanship. Time to change manufacturers!

Then randomly we decided to take a short bus trip to Front Row on Ann Siang Rd as dear Melly informed me that they were having a huge sale. 30-90% off. Actually we were misinformed. It was up to 50% only, with regular prices at 15% off. We saw quite a few things we like, but the price was still out of our pocket's reach. But if anyone is feeling for the need for a massive shopping spreee and have the cash, do make your way to Front Row! I however, spied the bow belt that I had lusted for since the last time Ezra and I visited the place and with a slight discount, I knew I had to have it. I'm a sucker very pretty accessories!

I'm sure I'm not the only one who's excited about the arrival of Tim Burton's make of Alice in Wonderland. A trippy director meets a trippy classic animation, the end result can only be almost epic, well in a twisted kind of way. I really love Alice's outfit with the pastel blue dress coat and a quirky cut out skirt. Oh yeah and not forgetting those gorgeous pair of boots! =) I can't wait!

Here I am sitting at home on my computer on Halloween night. Initially I felt kinda sad that I have to stay home and move the rest of my stuff to the spare rooms (my parent's ex-study room and the guest room), but fortunately, Aisyah and Gif are coming over to keep me company... well more like hang out and avoid the hustle and bustle of the clubbing crowd. I hate crowds big time! =( I know some people are thinking why would I enjoy hanging out with a couple but I am totally cool with them cause they're cool enough to not make out in front of me. hah!

So anyways just clearing my desktop and realised I never really did go through all the photos I did for the last photoshoot in London, so just wanted to share a few of them with you all since today's theme is all about Dressing Up!

Yesh, I'm back and will try to be more dedicated to postings. Alot of things have happened over the past few weeks, nothing horrible not to worry. I've just been trying to get my life back in Singapore finally settled and have also recently landed a jewelry design job plus graphic design jobs with my aunt who owns a candy factory in China. She's the Willy Wonka-ess of the East! Thank Goodness I don't get to eat her candy when I'm there, for things might get ugly. Think me being rolled out like a ball by then seemingly little Chinese security guys.

But really too much has happened over the last few weeks to sum in up just in one blog entry and I really don't want to bore everyone with details of my life. So moving to more important things or thing actually...

I know I'm not a US citizen but I think this is the only country's election that affects the whole world. It's really exciting but I'm also hoping the one I'm totally rooting for is going to win... *Crosses fingers* Otherwise, I foresee utter disappointment for majority of the rest of the world.

Although, I think I'm going to be selling it on Etsy or something, something. Anyone interested, holla!

Oh yesh, I did cut my hair... in fact I cut off most of my hair. I love it so damn much! No hair on my face, no more split ends. Gabriel from Blitz (holland.v) did such a good job and I told him it was the best haircut of my life!

I know I've been missing for a week, sad to say I think I'll be missing quite alot till the New Year. Reason being... I have to get my life together. Too many things to do, too little healthy time to do it! (I've been pretty sick since I came back to Singapore and really need to get my physical well-being back on track.) There's the building of the loft in my room, getting a temp job and working on my own creations etc. I will be pretty much living out of the "suitcase" for the next couple of months which is difficult since I'm a VERY messy person! Le sigh...

Trying to do creative styling for a local magazine all year round without being boring, now that is a very tough challenge!

Yesterday my dad and I finally bought an A3 printer from Funan Mall. This was after much discussion cause he didn't see why anyone needed an A3 printer. Let's just say there'll be alot of random mini posters hanging all over my room walls from now on.

After that I went off on my own to Granny's Day Out because I remembered Larissa mentioned a sale was going on in one of her past entries. And there was... a frigging 40% off sale! Jeez. So many nice pieces, just really little cash! But in the end I was smitten with this piece. The lace details did it for me!

Just a little update on this entry. I headed down to Topshop in Raffles City, hoping to find a basic top or two and to my surprise was greeted by the latest collection from KateMossforTopshop. I knew Singapore does bring in her line, however what impressed me was how soon it actually came in. Anyways, I wasn't a fan of her last few collections but I felt this one was way more relatable to me and my own style.

Two pieces that I really like, which I absolutely couldn't choose between. The grey cardigan had a heart on each side of it's pockets and was very super slouchy comfy. The sleeves I adore because they weren't fitted like alot of cardigans were! I would so wear this with just a pair of denim shorts and white tee when I'm feeling absolutely lazy.

The apple cardigan. What can I say about it? It's sooo adorable! Anything that has apple motifs on it cannot go wrong! This too is really comfy and accents basics with a bit of patterns. The thing is, it's slightly cropped while I would prefer a more slouchy fit, while the grey cardigan is a little to boring! Dilemma! Dilemma!

However!! I'm waiting for the new Polo Jeans Co. military jacket to come in!! I can't wait to show everyone. I wish I could now, but apparently this company under Ralph Lauren is now discontinued in the US! How odd... Oh well... =D

I've been busy sketching, sketching the dresses, tops, shorts, blazers and all the whimsical illusions of grandeur I've been having in my noggin for the longest time. I'm trying to come up with my own mini collection for S/S'09! But I won't divulge too much.... cause I'm too caught up in being confused about too many things like seamstress, material etc, I don't even know where to start.

But here's some stuff that's inspired me =D:

I don't know if you remember Babar, or have even heard of him for that matter. He's another french character like Madeline whom I adore. I had forgotten him for a decade till my French tutor had mentioned him with much delight. I remember the Babar cartoons I would watch in the morning, with the simple, very pleasant, and some time's slightly odd musing of an elephant wearing a suit. haha. =D I love the colours and if you look carefully, the clothes on the elephants seem rather fashionable... a green suit and a crown... you gotta love that! xx

Today I spent an hour looking through old photographs because I remember how my mum used to dress me up in the loveliest of dresses when I was a wee lass! Sometimes I wish I was that young again, then again, age has never really stopped me from dressing the way I want to! =D It's so sad that most parents don't bother to dress their kids up anymore. Even 2 year olds start wearing tees, jeans and when they reach 12, they're dressing like their 30! Where's did their childhood go, seriously? Le sigh

Today I stopped by Books Actually to pick up 2 back issues of Nylon which I had noticed the last time I was there. Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan graced each of the covers, which is good enough reason for me to get them!

I love Nicole and Lindsay cause they are crraazzzzyyy... People like that make me feel relatively sane when I know tt in 90% of society, I am a 110% nutjob. =D I know they aren't exactly fashion icons because they are just 2 of the 100s of Rachel Zoe's styled minions, but I just can't stop looking at them. Ultimately I think it's their persona that makes their overall appearance so damn appealing. "Almost-freak show in pretty packaging" sound like the perfect description? Hate them/Love them... you gotta admit you're always intrigued.

Very casual outfit today, the only thing I liked was the little grey tube top I used to layer over my white top. Oh and yesh, the vintage plaid shirt that I had knicked back from Ezra's wardrobe. =P Although I think it does look better on him, or at least sexier! =D

Singapore's been really hot lately... grrrr.... However great news for me, my dad will be flying to/from France for the next 2 years... that means I'll be joining him too! Oh JOY right?! Plus, looking forward to travelling around South Asia soon... can't wait to get out of the heat!

Singapore Safari

I apologize for the lack of updates recently. I've been down with some nose allergy and throat infection, which has the germs consuming all my energy thus leaving me limited to that small space called my bed. In other words, I've been pretty much dead. So dead I haven't been taking my daily dosage of blogs!! Yup, it's been that annoying.

So anyways a few weeks back Ezra and I headed to the Night Safari for fun, seeing as how his mum and sister works there, therefore we get in FREE! It was really fun! Too bad we don't get to touch the animals though... However, the best part was when the staff starting telling us ghost stories about the place. Apparently doing World War II, alot of people were shot and buried together in a massive grave on this piece of land. People have seen spirits in trees and strange things have been happening to them. I was so spooked, I had Ezra's hoodie on in fear that someone would grab my hair from the back or something on the tram! Here are some photos! p.s If you're ever in Singapore, you should take a look. If you're local and haven't been there in a decade like me, then you should go! They've had so much upgrading and BONGO BURGERS!

So here's my safari themed outfit for today! I decided to keep my Safari-ish military uniform top after much contemplation. I love the big buttons, they're such a trip for me to look at! I wanted to mix feminine with masculine by using the structured top over an over-sized loose blouse. This way, I don't end up looking like I really work as a Safari park ranger! =P Best part of this outfit, is that I get to wear in my Doc Martens! =D Thanks to Bebee of Jshoes!

Today I made my way to the Salvation Army Thrift Store along Upper Serangoon Road. At first I was rather excited because it looked pretty big and loads of stuff all around, however was pretty sad that the clothes selection was very limited. Not only that, it was surprisingly not very thrifty! The cashier wanted to charge 15 bucks for a bag that would have probably came free at the cosmetics counter (an old lady wanted to get it). In the end I didn't get anything and decided to stick to Ebay! =D

Not only is the selection on Ebay crazy good, if you look carefully, you'd find good buys at very good prices. Much better than shopping at Far East Plaza! Looking forward to receiving these in the mail! Colour colour & more colour!

The elusive and prized Luella hairband which I have not been able to find anywhere! TeenVogue linked one of the prettiest hairbands I have ever seen, to the official Luella website, but it's not up yet. Early X'mas present?! =P Ezra told me I didn't have to hint, it was written all over my face as I flipped thru the mag while having Mos Burger with him. While this is unavailable right now, he was soooo sweet and bought me a light apple green bow hairband from woodwood! (view below)

Anyways I woke up this morning after 4 hours of sleep, feeling rather inspired. I had been looking at the plaid fabric laying in the corner right before I slept, thinking what was I going to do with it. Initially, I was just playing around with it making the usual elastic band skirt, but I got bored cause I finished it in like 45 minutes. Then I decided to add some wooden buttons I had leftover from another project and used abit of the remaining fabric make a bow for it (just to add to the girly-ness I love to have in everything in my wardrobe =P) Just to let you know, the bow is detachable so that I could put a belt on. =)

But then I thought... wearing just another pretty skirt was getting abit boring... so I tried it as a top and I think I love it even more! Who knew!?! I really like this plaid fabric! Gonna get me more to make something else! =D

Plaid or Tartan...? I am so confused. Some magazines call it tartan, some people call it plaid... so what exactly should one of the biggest trends for F/W'08 be called? Here's the definitions:

Plaid
1. any fabric woven of different colored yarns in a crossbarred pattern.
2. a pattern of this kind
3. a long, rectangular piece of cloth, usually with such a pattern and worn across the left shoulder by Scottish Highlanders
4. having the pattern of a plaid

Tartan
1. a woolen or worsted cloth woven with stripes of different colors and width crossing at right angles, worn chiefly by the Scottish Highlanders, each clan having its own distinctive plaid.
2. a design of such a plaid known by the name of the clan wearing it.

If tartan is the name for the clothes worn by Scottish clans, then shouldn't the current trend just be called plaid? Oh well, that's what I'm sticking to... What do you think?

I do love the outfit on Blake Lively although we all know that private school students can't dress anything like that in real life. hehe. One thing that did irk me about the quote from Fab Sugar is "over-the-knee tights a la Carrie Bradshaw". Why? Because she wasn't the first person to coin over-the-knee tights and it's not fair to prior fashionistas who were wearing it long before she did, A.K.A one of my favourite characters, Cher (Alicia Silverstone) in Clueless. Now that is a classic teen flick with classic fashion fun!

I've graduated from college (although am probably going to business school towards the end of the year) so unfortunately or fortunately, do not have a chance to dress for the First Day of School. But then again, since when does that even matter? =P

My new red school emblem sweater from Urban Outfitters that my dad just brought back for me from a trip to L.A. It's much warmer than I thought it would be, but appropriate for a rainy chilly day. And say HI to my new shoes from Trois+inch in Wisma Atria. They have a great selection of shoes at really good prices!

On a previous post, I had told you all that I found treasure in my mum's wardrobe which she had obviously forgotten about. Here it is...

This jacket and skirt suit looks like an outfit from a vintage Parisian movie or something. I had to have the dodgy shoulder pads as well as the very tight lining under the skirt removed(which really doesn't make sense to have in the first place). I'm still thinking if I need to remove an inch and a half from the shoulder area cause it still looks too wide for me. However, I'm just afraid it's gonna lose character. What do you think?

Obviously dressing up like this in Singapore will get the oddest glares, plus the weather is awful hot and sticky, not to mention, there's no point wearing a hat when everywhere I go is pretty much sheltered, I wanted to mix it up to make it less dressy.

There's a good reason to be awake at 6am in the morning and that would be going down to your neighbourhood bakery to find freshly baked bread & pastries. Prior heading down to Ezra's place after his work on Saturdays, we would meet at the nearby coffee shop for morning noodles and porridge, then stop by DJ Roti (bread in Malay... I know... this name tops my charts of WTF shop names) to get some cheese & sugar bread. MMmmm... Yuummm...

Piping hot... smells like carbohydrate heaven...

My favourite choice... sugar on cheese.... Mmmm

So I went strolling downtown in Orchard yesterday and while I was suppose to head straight to Kinokuniya bookstore, I made a detour to Zara in Ngee Ann City. It's been awhile since I've been in a Zara Outlet (the last time was when I went there with Ana in London few months back). They're past few collections have been a slight let down for me. However, I am totally in awe of this season's collection. Full of plaid, boho.... a variety of D&G and Gucci A/W'08 inspired clothings which I really love and many I really wanted to get. However I settled for two pieces I thought would probably stay in my favour the longest. Starting with this plaid oversized shirt... with puffy sleeves (a sort of style I have been endlessly searching for cause I hate fitted shirts, they do absolutely nothing for my figure. Eew.). My brother's comment was:" Did you buy that at a thrift store? Looks like a vintage piece." I guess that was a compliment towards my top unless he's trying to infer that I look like a homeless hobo! But whatever it is, I like it muchos! The material is a little warm but perfect for a cold rainy day like today.

Today I managed to take temporary ownership of the car while my dad is overseas and my mum went out with her friends, therefore dragged the boyfriend out into daylight (shock and horror) and drove to MacRitchie Reservoir (or however you should spell it). Okay I know this is a typical location to take nice scenic photographs but it's also the place where Ezra and I shared very special dating moments a year ago.

To set it straight, I am no model, but every girl wants to have some photo fun once in awhile! Honestly, I wish I was the photographer instead cause I love taking photographs way more (I'm known as layout queen & "artistic director" for photoshoots back in London. This happens when you read through way too many fashion magazines and know most of the fashion poses). So today I spent some time teaching Ezra how to use the SLR manually and he loves it!

Unfortunately the weather was pretty gloomy and it got worst... so the photo quality wasn't really as good as I wanted it to be. Boo...

While looking for local Singapore online-shopping sites, I chanced upon a blogger that had provided a link to Hansel. Now I'm not really sure if it was such a good idea to have clicked on that link, cause now I'm quite determined to a piece of Jo Soh's(the brains of this fantastic operation) designs. Sorry if the pictures of their collection isn't very clear... Hansel's very well designed website uses flash so do take a look for yourself. Their pieces are very whimsical and so adorable... and some of you who know me very well would say the collect is very me. And that is absolutely true! If I had unlimited amounts of money, I would gladly purchase every single piece they had. Unfortunately, that isn't so. Boo........

Anyways the latest collection is based on a nautical theme while last year's was inspired by magicians. Honestly, I prefer Abracadabra collection. It's more unique and I love everything (Plus it looks more expensive, I'm assuming it is... very...) Although anything with a title CAPTAIN CHEESE scores massive amounts of brownie points in my opinion! Apparently this label is being stocked in Capitol building and for non-Singaporeans, let me just tell you... almost NO ONE goes there... But now, I must make a trip down to take a look for myself!

p.s Calling all Singaporeans out there! If you know of any good local online retail sites, please share your bookmark with me! Even the livejournal ones that have the worst loading speed ever.... =)

The Zouk Flea Market was packed as expected (Nearly died in there... it was like going to the club in the night but the lights were turned on...), but I didn't find anything exceptionally appealing or price worthy. Some things were pretty but too overpriced for a flea market unfortunately. I did buy a top for 5 bucks, which was a very good purchase imo. I preferred the last flea market I was at a year ago. -__-"

But I think the better part of the day was travelling to Ann Siang Road to take a look at Books Actually. Here are some random photos before we even got to No.5.

Now for Books Actually...

Located at No. 5 Ann Siang Road... Books Actually is haven for those who have an eye for design and anything vintage. It supplies a vast collection of philosophy books and literature. I was pleasantly surprised to find a stack of back issues of Wallpaper and Nylon magazines @ 9.50SGD a pop. On the shelves you may also find jars of pencils, vintage wooden rulers, out-of-production sharperners, home-made notebooks and post cards handmade by the owners of Books Actually. I had gotten a wooden pencil and ruler for myself =) Would have gotten a notebook too, but thought to myself, "hello, you're a designer too! You could make one easy..."

The shop showcases its collection of old type writers, vintage cameras and penguin books, which is a treat for unsuspecting customers. I apologize for the lack of pictures... and the probably not so successful descriptive dialogue about the shop, but you really have to take a look for yourself to know what I'm talking about. Let's just say, I could have sat there the whole day reading if I was allowed! =)

Come Take a Trip With Me

Yesterday I finally got to visit Haji Lane! It nearly happen as I looked out the window and it was pouring cats and dogs! Fortunately, by the time I got to Bugis, the rain had stopped. Thus Ezra and I made our way to Haji with precarious footsteps on slippery pathways.

Before I get on and on about my little excursion trip. Let me rave about my new sailor skirt. I had finally finished sewing it after procrastinating for 2 weeks... and am very happy with the results! The skirt has an elastic band which makes it uber comfy and the white stripes are strips of white velvet sewn on. If anyone is interested in getting one custom made for herself, it's 50SGD. You can choose the colour of the fabric as well as your preferred length! More photos will be provided if needed. So drop me an email if you would like one too!

Back to Haji Lane... there are quite a few number of very beautifully furnished boutiques along this small street. But Ezra only took me to the ones that he knew that I would like, which were still quite a few of them... =D I didn't manage to take a pictures of all the boutiques, but here are a few must visits recommended by yours truly.

Pluck has a yummy range of ice cream, my favourite being butterscotch&pecan.

So far, one of the best decorated boutiques, besides Collage which has a fish tank made out of an old bath tub. Too bad I couldn't take a picture of that, but that place is another must visit! Oh by the way, I bought a very pretty skirt which will be in my next entry =) Bet yer all will love it too!

White Room does have apparel for women but it was more of the menswear that I thought was appealing.

Salad has this gorgeous mirror for 106SGD. I really want it but I'm totally skint this month! Bah!

I should really stop taking stuff from my mum's closet, but lately, she's been stocking up on some pretty cute outfits. Plus I just got the prettiest hand-me-down Parisian style blazer and skirt suit from her which just needs the shoulder pads removed before it becomes my new favourite outfit.

Too bad you can't really see the bow headband I had just made, although, I'm thinking of making one with a prettier velvet bow on it. Who knew that making a bow would be that complexed! Any old ribbon just wont do! Sighs, Well... the best things are made after trying and trying again!

Gawd ... I really want the Viktor & Rolf bow headband but it's so hard to find online. Grrr...

Presenting...the Vice & Vanity necklace that alot of people have blogged about. I bought it when it first came out at about 169SGD if I remember correctly. I think it's really pretty, but it's so hard to match it with most of the clothes I have. It does go well with white crisp tuxedo shirts, but I don't really like wearing shirts! It's in really good condition (The white is still 90% white but obviously not as white as a new one... sorry =P) so if anyone else is interested in taking it off my hands and doing it justice just drop me an email with an offering price! =D

Ezra bought the cutest and definitely most befitting Angsty tee shirt the other day. I had moaned and whined for about 20 minutes or so, revolving the fact he didn't buy one for me. His silence was broken with one "You don't even wear tee-shirts...," and that obviously shut me up. =D The boy has a habit of wearing his new favourite clothes for days on end before abandoning it in the pile of past favourites, but I foresee a longer period of adoration for this one. hehe. By the way, where is the Abercrombie polo I bought for you, huh? huh? huh?

Anyways he's bringing me to Haji Lane this Tuesday and Zouk Flea Market this Sunday! (Now that I blogged about it, you can't back out cause the whole world is my witness! Muahaha) For your information (directed to Singaporean readers), I have never been to Haji Lane... Yes, blasphemy right?! I guess the idea of walking there from Bugis does bug me quite alot, plus it's parallel parking which is off-limits for me. So I'm like a little kid on Christmas Eve, totally stoked!

It's gonna be a Monday, let's all try not to be...

I love Chinatown. When I was young, I used to think it was tacky, meant for grandmas and grandpas... but after awhile you start to appreciate the old things or in my words: "Chinatown is soo ghetto, so close to the heart"... I don't not appreciate modernization sometimes cause it can get pretty in-your-face and you lose tradition and culture.

So anyways my parents, cousin and I went for dimsum at Yum Cha in Chinatown, following which a little visit to the Buddha tooth Relic temple. Yesh, that's right, you read it right.. Buddha's tooth. It's actually just a replica, saw the real one up close in Bangkok, which they had moved from China for a visit of sorts. I didn't really like the temple. To me, it should have been way more modest, but I guess it didn't matter when tourists were concern.

Anyways, the green shawl you see was loaned by the temple cause you can't wear anything sleeveless. I thought it looked pretty fetching in the end. LOL. The shoes were totally random. Just wanted to wear my mum's keds for the sake of wearing them. They are sooo uber comfy and only cost 30SGD. Like hello..... cheap much?

The weekend is HERE... !! So yer all have a LOVELY TIME, yer hear!?

Flowers in my hair

The weather does prove a problem when you're dressing up. I know loads of people in Singapore dying for a cool day... sometimes even snow, though that would announce the arrival of the end of the world... hmmm.... Haven't really been doing much except staying home to play World of Warcraft, spend time with my cousin, family and Ezra. Oooo, highlight of the week... getting DVDs for my current favourite Korean drama. *chuckles* I know... so unglamorous, but I can't help that the "aunty" genes run through my blood with glory!

I've been trying to brighten up my outfits lately, plus try to put together outfits that don't give me an excuse to wear my Chloe belt. Like my hairband??? I bought the trimming in London a month-ish ago, but didn't have the time to get around to making a hairband till now. I have flowers in my hair! And I made my bag myself, sewed it from raw cotton and did the whale shaped stenciling on it. I know the print ain't that great, but it's not like I really can be bothered to do silkscreen printing myself! Grrawrrr... But to me, it's still super cute!

The "Patriot"

Singapore's National Day is coming and I decided to put together a red and white outfit. (For those who don't know, the Singapore flag is red and white with a crescent moon and stars) In the middle of the night, I got a piece of red fabric that I had brought back from London (supposedly to make a military vest) and turned it into a MiuMiu inspired skirt. I thought it was gonna fail tragically, but it turned out pretty alright!

I had never made a skirt before, but now that I've learnt to make a basic one, I can't stop!

Went to Spotlight (Singapore's version of Mood Fabrics USA/Cloth House London) and went crazy fabric shopping! I have so many projects on my hands right now... maybe abit too ambitious but I am Sooooo thrilled! Working on a military-esque tote bag now! Can't wait to show you!

Today my cousin and I followed my mum to the temple. While she was chatting with the nun there, we took the opportunity to have some fun. Who said going to the temple wasn't fun?!

We loved our ghetto slippers. His has some kind of fake Hello Kitty prints on them... which he comment on as "makes my feet look so pretty." I guess old school bedroom slippers are still the most comfortable! =D

Can't get enough of my H&M skirt. As much as I would love to walk around in a mini, lately, I've been feeling abit of a haffer. /sigh. I've always thought I never looked good in Tee-shirts but have found renewed faith in tees with those from Urban Outfitters. Thank you Aisyah for bringing this one home for me! =D Aren't the prints awesome? =D

One thing I love about being home... is being able to drive. *Now if I can just figure out how to do parallel parking...*

My cousin took this picture when I just parked the car in Orchard road. He had to keep it as a souvenir for surviving a ride in my car... Note: I am NOT a bad driver... not the best, but definitely not the worst!

Today I went browsing with the cousin in Orchard Road, in hopes of finding him the 11th pair of Nike dunks to add to his massively EXPENSIVE collection. (And boys talk about girls and their shoes... jeez)

He couldn't find anything... but I found something that has made my month! When I was back in London, I had gotten wind of the Viktor & Rolf limited edition lashes for Shu Uemura... but never really had the time to go take a look, but the assumption was... there wouldn't be any left anyways... Then went I went to Japan, it was completely sold out. Like duh... What was I thinking?! The capital city of fake lashes having any left...... Obviously not! Then I looked around in Singapore... Tangs was sold out of the paperclip-lashes and told me to head to Isetan. I was fortunately to have 1 of the last 2 pairs!

Why I chose the paperclip pair? Well I thought it was the most unique and probably closest to my persona and style. The first pair I feel is more for the party girl... the hostess of the ball... And I being more mellow than I've ever been in my life.. didn't want to to harsh it! The third pair... is for the belle of the ball... the girly sweetheart with flowers in her hair. The pair I chose... I feel.. is for the girl whose naturally different from the crowd... seemingly awkward to everyone else, yet fascinating. You would think I'm praising myself.. well It's my blog... so I'll scream praises if I want to!

I'm saving this pair for all those special occasions. Honestly, I can't wait to try them on but they're like a piece of artwork you don't want to ever risk destroying. If you see them, love them... what you waiting for?!

p.s: Shu Uemura puts them on for you for free as many times as you require them to! That's what I call... good service!

Finally got to watch The Dark Knight today! I feel like one of the last few Singaporeans to... As much as I was tempted to dress towards a batman-sort-of-theme, I was feeling even more ill this evening (didn't even get to wearing my heels cause I thought I might pass out and fall to my "fashionable death") and was too oozy to think.

However, I took the opportunity of having the sniffles to wear my new Luella cardigan(which was on sale at 50% off!).
I wanted to purchase the batman logo cardigan, but they were sadly all sold out. Initially, I was having second thoughts of getting it because it's pink and pink to me is a no go, but who knew I could pull of pink that decently! Then again, maybe it's just LUELLA PINK! (That's the official shade of pink for Luella, according to me!)

Casual Cool

I've been feeling ill for the past 2 days and deciding only to have four hours of sleep for the night, was not a good decision! I tend to get sniffly when I come back here... which is really gross when your body is already releasing excessive amounts of bodily fluids (yes, I mean perspiration =P), while your nose is running...... ew, I know... Really unglamorous sight to behold..... I'm sorry I had to put that image in your head.

So anyways, pardon the digression... =D

My mum got a pair of sandals on sale at Massimo Dutti when we were in London because her plan to get the same pair as mine, failed. It's a good thing we wear the same size in terms of apparel and footwear cause that way we can share our stuff! (we use it as an excuse to buy slightly more expensive clothes.)

What I love about opening my luggage is finding random articles of clothing/accessories hidden in nooks and crannies of it. You'd be surprised... my luggage is like Barney's (the purple dinosaur) magical bag... you never know what you're gonna find and it's always pleasantly surprising. So scrunched up in a ball, was THE American Apparel skirt... I thought I'd try wearing it again, although something about it just doesn't feel quite right on me (in my opinion). Probably cause I'm really not used to wearing casual knits like these... Oh well...

As I didn't have time to take pictures this morning, I figured I'd do it in the afternoon. The thing about Singapore weather which is pretty similar to London is the sudden unpredictable downpour of rain. Thus as you can see, I'm drenched! Even so, I didn't look that bad as I thought I would so if you could just try your very hardest to look past the blotches of water marks and insanely sheer blouse, you might find my outfit more... how should I say this, well put together?

I hadn't worn this skirt in ages, but I knew it would go really well with my new Chloe belt. I like this ensemble... Gonna wear it and take a way better picture of it again! Tralala

Since I came back from Fukuoka, a new wave of business has hit me. My relatives from Holland are here for a short stay, thus I am in charge of host duty (at least for my 16 year old cuz). But before they arrived, I made my way to my favourite store in Singapore, woodwood. Located in Far East Plaza, this place is a haven for the sweetest, cutest dresses at very affordable prices, ranging from 45-60.
I bought a dress on sale for just 15 bucks which I'm wearing tonight for dinner, amongst 2 others you see below. *giggles*

I seriously want everything in that shop, especially the bags designed by their in-house designer. They come in 3 colours/prints. I want the dark leather one! Priced at $256, I have to save up money for it first. So hard when you're also in love with everything else in the store.

So if you're in Singapore, you have to take a look!

p.s my birthday is around the corner... COULD SOMEONE BUY ME THAT GORGEOUS BAG PLEASE?! =D~~~~

Travelling Easy

Yesterday we had to take a long... well 30 minutes isn't long actually... train journey to Fukuoka Temple/Shrine/Museum in Dazaifu area. So because of the amount of walking I predicted we'd be doing... I had to dress real comfortably without looking too much of a fashion let-down. So in my bag i stashed my usual goodies: Ipod, PSP, Glasses, 'I love tea' organizer, drawing pen, Chanel lipgloss, LV card case, Muji biscuits and... IRONMAN, never leave home without him.

So the trip's going pretty well so far. I have my ramen once a day at least! Good lord.. it's sooo tasty! Trying to upload photos is abit of a trip over here cause the internet doesnt encourage it... but will update way more when I'm back! One more day of shopping! I'm ready....... here.... we... go!

I'm back in Singapore and trust me when I say it's too hot for comfort. Even so, I do prefer it to English weather any day. At least it's predictable... hot or hot.

Anyways, sorry for the lack of updates. Suffering from serious jetlag and sleeping is undeniably the only thing on my mind. I'm held against my will by the sleep bug and it ain't pretty.

So today I managed to spend a few hours up to get my hair done. Plus go down to Kinokuniya@Takashimaya to browse the magazines. As I made my way there, I passed by the cutest range of golf bags I have ever laid my eyes on. They make me wanna take golf up again! *Drools.*

The Japanese graphics are oh so pretty, speaking of which... I'm leaving for Fukuoka, Japan tonight. Was a totally last minute decision on my parents' part and as much as I would honestly, want to spend the next 2 weeks sleeping before graduation, I have to have quality time with the family, or else...

It's like "Why are you complaining when it's Japan?"

I don't know... maybe cause I'm really tired. Have not been to Fukuoka yet, but thankfully it's not like Tokyo. I don't think my mind/body is ready for chaos again just yet.

Enough blabber, my vintage dress arrived right before I left for London. Thank Gawd I was still there because the ebay seller made a mistake of sending it to my London address instead of the Singapore one.

It's so pretty no??! Plus I bought a pair of T-bar heels from Aldo. They did give me blisters on the sides, but I'm insistent that that's just cause they're new!

Hey everyone, sorry for the lack of updates. I'm finally leaving London in about 7 hours. It's been really hectic and exhausting trying to pack 3 years of my life into suitcases and boxes, getting rid of things I love but have no choice and of course, trying to make the house spotless. I've changed my flight like 4 times and I'm sure Singapore Airlines isn't exactly very thrilled with me. 13-hour flight here I come! Fortunately/unfortunately, I can't feel my arms and my legs anymore, plus having 10 hours of sleep over the past 4 days is gonna assure total knockout once I get on board. Hopefully not right before!

Before Tania and I headed for Queen Bee's house, we went to the nearby Hyde Park to take some pictures. It was a lovely day, 7pm, with the sun still shining brightly...

We always get mistaken for sisters, so we bought matching hairbands just to mark our "sisterhood". We had loads of fun as you can tell and it's definitely times like these that are gonna make me miss London =(

Went over to Queen Bee's apartment at Knightsbridge today to have champagne and pasta with the girlies. I love her place and when I saw her rows of absolutely amazing pairs of shoes, I HAD to try them on. Although some of them were past seasons, they were maintained so well. Puts my shoe-maintaining skills to shame. My favourite are the DIOR ones which are her favourite too, considering she bought two pairs in different colours! So here they are!

After reading Susie Bubble's blog entry about The East End Thrift Store, I knew I had to be there. To me, it's a definite MUST GO. I had tried finding this place 2 weeks ago, but lost my way thus gave up and went home. This time I was determined to find it. It turned out, I did end up somewhere really close to there last time, just... not quite there. Jeez.

I rate this vintage shop.... BEST IN LONDON! Everything is about 10 pounds or less. Some items like coats and jackets are more pricey but definitely NOT overpriced. I got a military jacket for 20GBP that would sell for 85GBP in town.

It was 11am in the morning so the owner was kind enough to let me rummage thru the rows and rows and rows and rows...... of clothes, pile them up on the sofa and take loads and loads of photos. He was soo friendly and helpful. A super plus compared to other vintage places. I had tonnes of fun!! I could have spent the whole day there, unfortunately my pocket wouldn't allow it. So here's some pictures.

First up: My magician's outfit. I didn't buy the sunnies or the shimmery sweater which looked like something a disco ball had just threw up all over. I thought that made it even more awesome! But then decided, I would never wear it out of the house, thus instead bought the shirt and lovely blue skirt.

Next up, was looking out for clothes I could go to work in. This lavender dress hit the spot with an adorable vintage bag and lovely victorian-esque low-heels (I've been looking for sometime now!) And I absolutely love this boho top that I got. It's hard to find tops in this design that are long and have silhouettes that flatter my figure. =)

Then I tried on a Harajuku-esque red skirt with a heart shaped lace pocket. I loved it, but it was way too big for me and I didn't think it was worth the alteration.

Finally, this is what I originally wore for today. Sorry my hair is sooo bad. Left the house in a hurry with wet hair. Bad Sarah. Bad. But then again, in general, my hair isn't in good condition. I want a haircut now!! Grrrr... Anyways the dress, which looks like a shirt with a black bow and black skirt is actually from Primark and just costs 12GBP. I love the peter pan collar.... Grab it now! All the small sizes are disappearing!

I love my new/old shoes! I have more clothes that I will put up when I get them altered back home! =) Happy Mid Week all!

Okay so im not getting the exact same dress. The girl with sparrows in her hair

It was once featured on Susie Bubble's blog. The bird hairband she had worn a couple of times in some of her pics. Well it wasn't done by me, but I was very much inspired by it. Wanted to do something that was more subtle and just pretty.

I have two versions, the hairpin and the hairband. The birds also come in different colours, red, yellow, green, lavender and blue. Everything is made to order to keep quality control. =)

You can see two examples of how they can be worn. Innie (first pic) is wearing the hairband and I (second pic) am wearing the pin. With the hairpin, you can put it wherever seriously! =) Forget flowers in your hair... its time for the sparrows!

So wearing the vintage shirt I had bought Ezra few days back. I love it so much, I'm gonna be taking it from him quite alot! I was going for the builder look. Think I did it!

Last Minute Queen

I know I just have to post something, if not people are gonna get bored of me, or rather Imma get bored of myself.

Tomorrow is the Grad Show set up and in Last-Minute-girl classic fashion, I'm working thru the night to get stuff done. That's what you get for managing 8 hours of sleep every night before today, no sleep for 48 hours straight.

So what I'm doing is making a visual display for my jewellery pieces. Something fun, whimsical and make people go ... "Ohhh so cute... or OMG WTF." I like both reactions even if they are on the opposite far ends of the sanity spectrum. The theme is: Alice in Wonderland. You know the part where the card soldiers basically start painting the roses either red/white... Can't remember... if not the Queen would chop their heads off. Honestly, you're a poker card, WHO CARES. hehe.

I'll give the lot of pictures when I'm done. And the 2nd picture is one of my designs. Was gonna sell it to my makeup artist but neither she nor I had time to meetup. Sooo... looking for another buyer.

I know its a shitty photo. Will put up the lot soon.

Went to meet my dad today at Gloucester hotel.. He called me so many times in the morning to wake my lazy ass up, though he's kinda come to terms with the fact his daughter is not a morning person, you have to give him kudos for trying to change that. =P

He had brought only food this time round. Packets of Meepok, Maggi Noodles, Sambal blachan and Rice dumplings. Hmmmm... Obviously Yuko, Kevin and I finished the meepok, with Kevin searching desperately for all the pork lard in the bowl. lol.

So I thought, finally I have time to go out with my dad properly in London. Everytime he visited me the last few years, I've been too busy to do much but eat with him . We popped by Harvey Nichols since it was in the West side and I've never been there. Honestly... it reminds me too much of Fenwick. Less boring, but still rather... Hmmm... small and... there's always this issue of displaying too many things in one small space. Hate it! Still love Selfridges the best! After which, we stopped by at Harrods to have pastry and coffee at Laduree (the bestest French pastries in London!!) The interior was sooo beautiful but unfortunately no photography was allowed. *Hmph* My dad and I shared Tart Tartin (Apple tart) and Mont Blanc... Hmm... yums. I convinced him to buy 6 macaroons for 9.50GBP for the rest of the family. Look how pretty they are, and they smell good. I decided I'd go there again for deserts when my dad wasn't around, so held back on getting some for myself. Tee hee.

Highlight of the day: He bought me a new pair of sandals from Massimo Dutti. *Thrills. Been dying to get one for a long long time. Love yer dad!!!

Hot Weather

An Ode to Californian weather. London is scorching hot right now, almost similar to a hawt day in Singapore. However imagine public transportation and many shops without air-conditioning.... yeah... a sweltering tragedy. I hate the buses during summer and the Central line as well. Ventilation is crap and you can smell people sitting right at the back when you're right in the front. Totally NOT pleasant.

So I finally got a skirt from American Apparel. After several trips to their store on Carnaby Street during the past few months, I finally decided to get a tee-shirt and a skirt from them. This was after seeing how Rumi looked very good in hers.

American Apparel is definitely ONE thing, comfortable!

Question: How can one girl have so many clothes, but totally nthing to wear!!!

Almost at the end

It's all in the angles! Taking good complimentary photos is all in the angle. That takes skills, talent and f-ing loads of experience of cam-hoe-ing.

Looking forward to my dad coming to London on Monday. That means MONEY!! Finally I can go get my hair coloured and trimmed. I do want long hair back like NOW, but I also don't want it to be a total mess as I grow it out. Tired of black hair, yet my parents aren't keen on any colour, especially when I bleached my whole head ash blonde about 2 years back, so have to op for a dark chestnut brown. They haven't gotten over the trauma of having had a White-wannabe daughter. I don't want to be anything, I'm just f-ing bored! =P Black hair makes me look old, especially when I dress like an OL, I look 25 or something. No offence to 25 year olds, I'm almost 22 and I think at this point, 3 years make a whole load of difference.

So I'm leaving on the 24th of June for Home. Sadly I will be missing the London sale though I think it's actually a great thing to stop me from overspending. I'm trying to pack my room now and gawd, it's amazing what you find after living for 2 years in a junk yard sort of a room. My problem is I like to collect stuff. So it's hard to throw most of the stuff away.

I'm working on my website : Fawn and Fauna which has still only one page up. Yippee!! >__< style="font-weight: bold;"> Zouk Flea Market in August. You MUST come down and get stuff from me, International designers for cheap prices. I am way better than a Vintage store. =P This will prove my efforts of hulling the lot back very worth it.

Final Year Phototaking

Today the final year students had to take a graduation photo, which meant, not much to my surprise, spending about 45 mins of waiting around outside the Cochrane theatre and 1 hours inside doing silly and pretty lame poses.

The theme is CMYK. So most people came in either dressed in one colour (Me! Shoot me, but sometimes I love to be boring), two colours or all of the above. It was pretty neat seeing people all decked up for a photograph. I on the other hand had just woken up, threw on the darkest outfit I could find and went out the door. Knowing how I had to go to work straight after, I didn't bother to get creative. (Should have brought my pirate hat though!!!)

Anyways spent the time socializing with classmates telling them about the BBQ my house is having on Saturday, though the other 3 housemates aren't very aware of it themselves. LOL. Well someone's gotta start somewhere. Hoorahz!

When a girl runs of out money...

When you can't afford something, you make it. Thus, rather than spending about 100quid on a Chanel hairband, I made one, which even included its logo! (Got a pair of "Chanel" earrings from dodgy shopping in Guanzhou and took it apart.) You can take a look at the hairband in the Chanel Website ---> Clothes & Accessories ---> Others. According to Ezra, its pretty damn close to the original. Not that well made, but hey... one can only try. =)

I think its super pretty, though the counterfeit authorities wouldn't be pleased with me. Definitely NOT going to wear it through customs, that's all I'm saying... =P
